He's Right on Time!
Have you ever felt "unnecessary". I used to hear my mother and her friends say that and I had no idea what they were talking about - but for the last few days, I've been feeling "unnecessary". Just kind of floating in thought. I had several projects pending, but I just haven't been able to pull it all together.
I know that happens sometimes when you have a lot to do and you don't know where to start, but that isn't my problem. I began a writing project right after Thanksgiving and now I'm at a point of having to decide "where do I go from here". Am I ready for the stress - both emotional and financial - of actually completing and having it printed - or is this just a whim?
On the one hand "there is nothing new under the sun" but on the other hand - I believe in what I'm writing and it is my dream to see it in print. I've had two people read my draft, and they both thought it worthy enough to encourage me to go for it! Another person, who hasn't read it, not only encouraged me but gave me great advice about how I should proceed - because I know she's been where I am, I know I can count on her word.
So okay, why don't I stop trying to fool myself. I'm not a quitter and I don't act on whims, so I guess the answer is to buckle down and bring this project to fruition. Moreover, I truly believe that I am at a time in my life when I shouldn't spend a lot of time dreaming, but rather it is a time for me to take action. I read somewhere "Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing time. Action with vision is making a positive difference." (Joel Baker)
I want to make a positive difference!
But before I do - I think I"ll recover my dining room chairs and have the hall painted a new relaxing color. After all, I am hosting the Reading Divas January Meeting on the 27th and the house must look nice for company!!!
Since I wrote this post in January, I was contacted and asked to present a workshop for book clubs for the PG County Library System as well as by the editors of two literary publications requesting that they be allowed to reprint some of my posts or that I write an article for their pubication. Much of what I worked on earlier has served as a basis for these endeavors. "He may not come when you want him but he's right on time"! I am overjoyed!!!
